Large format projections on the facades of the city
On the occasion of the Lumière festival 2012, the City of Lyon joined with the Institut Lumière to illuminate facades of the city with large format projections of cinema images.
- On the north and south entry points of the Fourvière tunnel : an image of Marilyn Monroe greeted passengers at this emblematic entrance to the city.
- On the steeple of la Charité (near the Place Bellecour), headshots of legendary actrresses scrolled: Simone Signoret, Louise Brooks, Marlene Dietrich, Romy Schneider, Jeanne Moreau ...
- Place des Terreaux, on the facade of the Hôtel de Ville (City Hall), the famous scene from La Dolce Vita by Federico Fellini in which Anita Ekberg bathes in the Trevi Fountain in an evening gown, joined by Marcello Mastroianni was screened.

On the occasion of the Lumière festival 2012, Tuesday, October 16, Gérard Collomb (Senator-Mayor of Lyon, President of Greater Lyon), Georges Képénékian (Deputy Mayor of Lyon, Commissioner of Culture, Heritage, Major events and Citizens' Rights) and Thierry Frémaux (Director of the Insitut Lumière) invited the public to a commented screening, featuring archival footage of the city of Lyon.
